PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Lead Electrical Engineer 2004-2007
Hebei Electrical Power Design and Research Institute, China
· Power Generation Design
o Main Projects: coal-fired power plants (from 135MW to 1000MW unit); gas-turbine and steam-turbine combined cycle projects (3x390MW units), refuse incineration power plants(2x12MW), biological energy power plants (2x12MW,1x25MW, EPC), wind power generation (66x0.75MW, 33x1.5MW).
o Responsibilities: on the feasibility study stage, compared two or more schedules for the power plant’s connection to the electric grid and determined the optimal one-line diagram of overall; on the basic design stage, compared the schedules of the HV switchgear layout and auxiliary supply system and determined the best one, completed the calculations of short-circuit, loads of auxiliary supply system, start-up of large motors, over-voltage and grounding, list the main electrical equipment and material; on the detailed design stage, prepared the equipment specifications for tenders, completed the design documents for construction, including HV switchgear, layout of large-scale transformers, MV power distribution for auxiliary supply system, LV power distribution for turbine, boiler, electrostatic precipitator, flue gas desulfurization, water treatment, fuel delivering , ash handling systems, power supply for water intake system and ash storage yard outside the plant, backup diesel-generator, DC and UPS system, grounding and lightning protection, lighting, cable sizing and cable raceway.
· Civil Building Design
o Project: 28-storey high-rise residential building
o Responsibilities:10kV and 380/220V power distribution, lightning protection and grounding, lighting, cable TV, telephone, fire alarm and broadcast systems.
· Took part in the revision of “Technical Code for Designing High Voltage Electrical Switchgear” (DL/T5352-2006).
· As the project manager a 220kV substation, managed the electrical, civil and mechanical design, cost and timing estimates.

Electrical Engineer 1999-2004
Hebei Electrical Power Design and Research Institute, China
· As a lead designer, was in charge of the electrical design of large-scale power generation projects and civil buildings, including 600MW unit coal-fired power plants, 390 MW unit gas-fired combined cycle projects and some commercial buildings.
· Took charge of the on-site service of the projects designed to solve the technical problems during construction.

Assistant Electrical Engineer 1994-1999

· Took part in the design of power plants ranging from 50MW to 300MW.
